Food Review: Kween Granola Butter

I am a sucker for Facebook and Instagram ads, and the pandemic only made it worse…as I suddenly saw so many products I could buy direct (yes, even tortillas…..and so much more. I have kept UPS busy.). But the one ad that really caught my eye was for Kween Granola Butter. Because…it was Top 14 allergy friendly! With so few options for our youngest, Alistaire, him ever having any “spread” was minimal as he is allergic to both peanuts, all tree nuts and sunflower.

Kween offers the spread, made from oats, in 3 flavors. Chocolate, Vanilla and Original. Allergen friendly, with no nuts, seeds or “protein isolates” the spreads are also gluten-free and vegan. But as well…are not high in sugar. The Chocolate, for a 2 Tablespoon serving, has 3 grams sugar and 4 grams fiber. Yes, fiber! And no fake sweeteners.

The base ingredients: Gluten Free Oatsº, Flaxº, Olive Oilº, Maple Syrupº, Coconut Oilº, Salt, Spicesº. (º Organic)

The spreads must be mixed up well before use, but easy to do with a butter knife. The jars are lightweight and could be stashed into a ziplock bag to carry with you on the trail.

And did I mention 3 flavors? Vanilla above, with milk chocolate chips and dried cranberries sprinkled on.

If you’ve missed having a spread for your bread, you have to try Kween. It’s both Sarah and Alistaire approved!
