Fall calls for warming, hearty dishes, and potatoes hit the spot.

Mashed potatoes are a great source of potassium, which is essential on days you sweat a lot. It helps ward off cramps.

Getting the water ready.
Beef and Potato
In a quart freezer bag:
- ¼ cup instant mashed potatoes
- 1/3 cup freeze-dried hamburger
- 1/3 cup freeze-dried green peas
- 1 Tbsp gravy mix (regular or low sodium)*
- 1½ tsp dry milk
- ½ tsp granulated onion
- ½ tsp granulated garlic
FBC Method:
Place the freezer bag in an FBC Cozy or similar. Add 1 cup of boiled water and stir until well. Seal tightly and rehydrate for 15 minutes.
One Pot Method:
Bring 1 cup water to a boil in a small pot (preferably non-stick). Add in the dry ingredients and stir well. Cover and let rehydrate for 15 minutes. In cooler temperatures or at higher altitude, insulate the pot with a pot cozy.
Serves 1.
*Notes:
For the gravy mix, chicken or brown gravy works.
