I kept seeing these meals in a cup from Good To Go in social menus ads, so I picked the variety pack to review. It was an 8 pack, with 4 varities.
While sold as microwaveable meals in a cup, they come with directions for making with hot water.
They are smaller versions of meals they sell in mylar bags, at around $5 each. You might think that’s pricey for a meal cup until you run the math.

So shockingly, if you don’t care about the packaging, these are a pretty decent bargain for outdoor food. The mylar bag is for convenience. It keeps the dried food fresher for far longer and also makes camp prep easier. And yes, mylar bags pack far more flatter. But, if you want to save money and don’t have a huge appetite, you might consider the cups to save $.
Tip: Let these rehydrate for 15 minutes for the best texture. Rice takes time. And it will absorb more water the longer it sits.

The takeaway is that the meals are not bad. Being able to find gluten-free meals can be hard, so it’s a bonus. Just give them 15 minutes of sit time. And consider adding in meat if you consume it for a higher protein meal.
