Spring is a hard time for me – I am so busy building our new gardens still (and have been since we moved to West Virginia in March of 2025). I am finally nearly done with the daily work – it is built and planted.
I have two hobbies: Growing things and hiking. They cross over at times, and to be truthful, hiking goes second. I can’t eat hiking, and spring is so important for getting everything going.
The boys are done with school by the end of the week. They are ready to be done and have freedom for a few months.
It’s hiking season. It’s travel time. It’s learning history time. Come Friday, I will have two high schoolers.

Pickin’ peas is pretty important to me…..but….
That means adventure time is just around the corner…..the oldest and I have been getting out – just not on any huge trips. Just casual hiking, doing a couple of local trails in the early morning. Getting our step count up daily.

Last week, walking the ruins of long-ago Appalachia…
So… see you all soon with more trips and reviews! We have some new meals coming in the mail. The rain is finally stopping tomorrow, and the rivers are cresting soon.
