This is the last recipe I put together in my quest to empty our hiker pantry before our move.
Originally, it was a protein-only recipe, but then I found one last jar of freeze-dried noodles I needed to use up, so I made it a heartier meal.

Pulled Pork and Carrots with Noodles
Ingredients:
- 1 cup freeze-dried or dehydrated noodles
- ¼ cup freeze-dried pulled pork
- ¼ cup dried diced carrots
- 1 Tbsp butter powder
- 1 Tbsp sour cream powder
- 1 Tbsp shelf-stable parmesan cheese
Also Take:
- 1 Tbsp or 1 packet of olive oil
Directions:
Pack dry ingredients in a quart freezer bag, and tuck the oil packet in.
FBC Method:
Place freezer bag in an FBC Cozy. Add in 1¼ cups boiled water and oil, stirring well. Seal tightly and let sit for 15 minutes to rehydrate. Stir well.
It can be prepared in an MRE-style mylar bag as well.
One Pot Method:
In a pot, bring 1¼ cups water and oil to a boil, and add the dry ingredients. Stir well, cover tightly, and remove the pot from the stove. Let sit for 15 minutes to rehydrate. Stir well.
In cooler temperatures or at high altitudes, use a cozy pot to insulate.
Serves 1.
