A quick recipe using all freeze-dried ingredients that serve one person. It is not too big or too small for portion size. It’s comfort food that warms the body.
If you haven’t used freeze-dried cheese, it can clump up while it melts, but that’s totally fine. It’s still quite tasty, and I love rehydrated freeze-dried cheese because it has a fun chewiness!
See here for a tutorial on how to dry pasta to make it instant. And here for how to freeze-dry cheese.

Chicken Pasta with Corn
Ingredients:
- ½ cup freeze-dried or dehydrated pasta
- ½ cup freeze-dried mozerella chese
- ½ cup freeze-dried corn
- ½ cup freeze-dried chicken
- 1 tsp or 1 packet low sodium chicken bouillon
Directions:
Pack in a quart freezer bag or MRE-style Mylar bag. If storing for the long term, add an oxygen absorber and seal.
FBC Method:
Place the bag in an FBC Cozy, add 1½ cups boiled water, stir, and seal. Let sit for 15 to 20 minutes. (If using a mylar bag, add water to the bag and seal)
One Pot Method:
Bring 1½ cups water to a boil, then add the dry ingredients. Stir well, cover, remove the stove, and let sit for 15 minutes. In cooler temperatures or at high altitudes, use a pot cozy.
Serves 1.
We prepped this recipe for a series we do on our homesteading site: Instant Meals In Jars.

Sealed with an oxygen absorber, this meal can go a long distance and be ready for emergencies as well as for the outdoors.
