We have reviewed Pack It Gourmet’s Pizza Margherita Wrap meal in the past, but why not review it again and prepare it differently than the last time?
It’s a simple kit of freeze-dried ingredients. Add warm water and let sit for 15 to 20 minutes to rehydrate. Then proceed and use as you want.
Pro Tip: Work the cheese with your spoon while hydrating. Or you will get clumps of cheese. Should that happen, mash them down with the back of your spoon.
This cheese and vegetable mix can be eaten out of the bag to avoid carbs, such as tortillas or similar foods. It’s flavorful, but I suggest lots of water.

Each bag weighs 3.6 ounces and retails for $13.99. While it’s a one-person meal, it can serve two people depending on how you serve it.
The bag has 500 calories and 38 grams of protein. Tortillas will add many more calories, which isn’t bad for hiking.
Ingredients:
Mozzarella Cheese (part-skim milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes), Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Diced Red Tomatoes (tomatoes, citric acid, calcium chloride), Basil Pesto (basil, romano cheese, salt, spices, garlic powder), Red and Green Bell Peppers, Organic Tomato Flakes, Spices, Parmesan Cheese (partially skim milk, cultures, salt, enzymes, disodium phosphate), Sweet Basil.

I scooped out the filling and topped flour tortillas with it. Over a whisper of a flame, I slowly heated them up.

Freeze-dried cheese plays differently than fresh grated cheese, but once warmed up and you fold the tortilla over into a warm “taco,” it is delicious to enjoy.
