Commercial Meal Review: Meyer Lemon Cheesecake

It’s always time for dessert! Even the local crows would agree with me. From start to finish, I had two cagey crows who showed up to “help”, just waiting for their time to shine. More to that story later….

I picked up a package of Meyer Lemon Cheesecake from Packit Gourmet. I have always enjoyed their pudding-style desserts.

Priced at $10.99, while it doesn’t make a lot, it is plenty for two hikers to enjoy. Just enough to satisfy the sugar craving after a long day.

The pudding mix and the topping. When I reviewed the strawberry version last year, I didn’t like the milk’s aroma, but the Meyer Lemon version smells fantastic. I didn’t pick up on the dry milk aroma at all.

It is very easy to prepare. Just add the called-for water, and using a long-handled spoon, stir, stir, and stir some more. Then seal and let rest for a few minutes. If you make it with dinner, you will be ready to enjoy it after.

It doesn’t need any chilling, so there is no need for a cold creek or snow field. You can enjoy it even in a heat wave.

It’s very rich and has a satisfying flavor.

Which, as I turned my back, those two crows? They took off with the plate and my spoon, only dropping it when I turned around—and dared to complain to me about how I was a big jerk.

The funny part is that TWO vegan meals were ignored next to it. They knew what smelled good.

The Takeaway:

It’s crow-approved. It’s tasty. It’s fast. And tasty.

  1. My son and I had this on our 2023 Pecos Wilderness trek. Five stars, two thumbs up, whatever. Very tasty.

Meyer lemons grow around where we live. A very tasty fruit that is less tart than a standard lemon.
