Meal Review: Good To Go Peanut Chicken Salad

No-cook, with 29 grams of protein, this called to me. There’s always hope for very easy trail meals.

Good To Go Peanut Chicken Salad. Priced at $10.75 on Amazon. (It’s currently $11.25 on their website.)

The ingredient list:

Chicken (White Meat Chicken), Dry Roasted Peanuts, Dried Carrots, Dried Savoy Cabbage, Peanut Butter Powder (Roasted Peanuts), Coconut Milk Powder (Freshly Pressed Coconut Milk, Maltodextrin (from corn), Sodium Caseinate), Coconut Sugar, Sea Salt, Ground Coriander, Organic Wheat-Free Soy Sauce Powder (Soy Sauce (Soybeans, Salt), Maltodextrin, Salt), Crystallized Lime (Citric Acid, Lime Oil, Lime Juice), Dried Shallots, Dried Cilantro, Garlic Powder, Dried Thai Chilies, Kaffir Lime Leaf Powder, Black Pepper

For a single serving, the sodium isn’t terrible. It is high in potassium, good for hot days on the trail. 29 grand of protein and 18 grams of fat will fill you up. 9 grams of fiber is great.
Looking at the dry ingredients. The aroma was very pleasant, heavy on roasted peanuts.

The directions are simple. Just add a half cup of cool water, stir well, and let sit for 12 to 15 minutes

Ready to try.

I really enjoyed this no-cook meal. It’s fresh and crunchy, with great taste. It has a bit of heat added to warm your mouth. The chicken is small bites, so rehydrated properly. There was none left amongst the reviewers. And often, the meals we review don’t get finished, so that is high remarks on the quality.

While good eaten out of the bag, I’d recommend this as a wrap filling, using large (thin) flour tortillas. It’d really hit the spot.
