Local Adventures: Skagit Valley Flower Walking

The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is a sensory overload for those who love tulips and daffodils. I have no shame in admitting I have been to the festival a few times, to walk the fields in the Skagit flats (the land between Mt. Vernon/Burlington and LaConner. Out on the flats the views go on forever, and the wind is never ending. If you are in the area in spring it is worth the time (and minimal cost to park at the fields) to walk it.

The colors never fail to amaze.

Walker found a broken daffodil and was prancing around with it, ever so happy.

Daffodils in bloom.

Tulips not quite ready.

Seriously though, a pair of rainboots and a rain coat. It is all you need, and then set off to walk the fields until you are sated.
