This breakfast backpacking recipe is a no-cook cold cereal, and is vegan friendly.
3⁄4 cup bulgur
1⁄4 cup dried cranberries
2 Tbsp dried blueberries
3 Tbsp orange powder (see note)
1⁄4 cup toasted chopped walnuts
Pack everything but the nuts in a sandwich bag. Put the nuts in a small bag.
Add 1½ cup cool water to the bag before going to bed. In the morning, add walnuts (or your favorite nuts/seeds).
For the orange powder, run freeze dried oranges through a blender. You can substitute Tang® or similar orange flavored dry powder, but it isn’t quite the same.
