Food Find: Country Archer Provisions Zero Sugar Beef Jerky

Country Archer Provisions has quite a line of sugar-free (or zero-sugar) jerky and meat sticks. It’s not the cheapest out there, but it is well worth the cost if you want good meat to enjoy on the trail. You might like this jerky if you are low-carb or on a carnivore diet and haven’t tried it yet.

Country Archer Provisions has 4 flavors of jerky and 9 sticks/sausages that are zero sugar. That is quite a bit to choose from.

Zero Sugar Beef Jerky uses grass-fed beef for it.

Price-wise, the “family size” will be your best deal.

What I like about this jerky is the texture. They keep the pieces small and thin, which is somewhat shredded for your pleasure. It is far easier to eat than other jerky, which can be tiring for one’s mouth. The other thing is this shredded jerky is great to add to recipes (let’s say you eat carbs, and add a ¼ cup jerky to 1 cup rice + ½ cup freeze-dried vegetables? Add in some low sodium broth powder, a bit of cheese, and you have a filling meal.)

I find it on the West Coast at Safeway and Fred Meyer’s (owned by Kroger). I can usually source it in 2-ounce and 5.3-ounce packages. The best price is the 5.3 package.
