Chocolate Popcorn Trail Mix
Ingredients:
- 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups popped popcorn
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 2 cups frosted mini wheat cereal
Instructions:
At home, melt chocolate in a microwaveable glass bowl on high for 1 minute. Remove it and stir until fully melted. Add other items and toss fast to coat.
Cool on a large sheet of wax or parchment paper. Store in plastic bags tightly sealed.
Notes:
In summer, bury your gorp/trail mixes deep in your pack.
Putting your trail mix into snack-sized bags is a good idea for two reasons: 1) It keeps it fresh. 2) It keeps dirty hands from double and triple-dipping into the food. This cuts down on the spread of viruses while hiking with partners.
