Chicken Gravy Rice

This simple recipe is great for long days when you just want a simple meal. Freezer Bag Cooking (FBC) ready.
Chicken Gravy Rice
Ingredients: 
  • 1 cup instant rice
  • 2 tsp chicken gravy mix
  • 1 tsp diced dried onion
  • 2 Tbsp shelf stable parmesan cheese (green can)

Instructions:

At home pack the dry ingredients in a quart freezer or sandwich bag. Pack the chicken can and oil with the bag.

FBC method:

Add 1 cup near boiling water, chicken with broth and oil, stir well, seal tightly and put in a cozy for 15 minutes. Fluff up before eating.

Insulated mug method:

Add 1 cup boiling water, chicken with broth and oil to the dry ingredients. Stir well, cover tightly and let sit for 15 minutes.

One pot method:

Bring 1 cup water, chicken with broth and oil to a boil in your pot. Add in the rice, turn off the stove, cover tightly and let sit for 15 minutes. In cool weather or at altitude use a pot cozy.
