Instant pudding is an easy treat for the backcountry.
Basic Trail Pudding
Ingredients:
- 4-ounce (4 serving) instant pudding mix
- 2⁄3 cup dry milk
Instructions:
At home, pack the dry pudding mix and milk in a quart freezer bag. Mark bag “1¾ cups cold water”.
To Make:
Add 1¾ cups of very cold water. Stir well and seal tightly. Holding the top, start shaking the bag for a couple of minutes.
Put the bag in a cold stream/lake or snowpack and let it chill for 20 minutes or longer (best to make before you start dinner).
Serves 4.
