When we first created this recipe, I knew it was not for everyone. Bulgur is cracked wheat and very much a favorite ingredient at The Hippy Hut™. It has a chewy texture, so it isn’t soft like rice.

Fruity Breakfast Bulgur
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup bulgur
- 2 Tbsp apples (diced and dried)
- 2 Tbsp golden raisins
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp dry milk
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp fine sea salt
- 1 Tbsp granulated honey or 1 packet of honey
Directions:
Combine all the dry ingredients in a pint freezer bag.
Take the honey packet along with you in the bag.
FBC method:
Add ½ cup near boiling water. Stir well, seal tightly, and put in a cozy for 15 minutes.
Mug method:
Add ½ cup boiling water. Stir well, cover tightly, and let sit for 15 minutes.
One Pot Method:
In a small pot, bring ½ cup water to a boil. Add in dry ingredients and stir. Cover and let sit for 15 minutes.
If using liquid honey, add the honey at the end and stir in.
Serves 1.
Notes:
For a vegan version, substitute maple syrup or agave nectar for the honey and use coconut, rice, oat or soy milk powder.
