Snow Cones
Ingredients:
- 1 fresh snow
- 1 flavorings (see below)
Instructions:
ONLY USE CLEAN SNOW. Please do NOT use any snow that has coloring on or in it. Colored snow can make you very sick. Do not collect snow near roads; use snow only away from civilization (though if you have snow falling at home, in your backyard, it is fine).
In camp, collect preferably fluffy snow. Hard-packed snow that is ice won’t work well.
Fill your mug up with unpacked snow. Pour over the snow honey packets, real maple syrup, or 100% fruit juice concentrates (coffee/Italian soda flavoring syrups also work well). Use your spoon to eat it snow cone style.
Don’t eat too fast to avoid ‘brain freeze’; in winter, eat only a bit, as snow can lower your core temperature.
