Fruity Breakfast Rice

A simple breakfast backpacking recipe, that is easy on the stomach.

Fruity Breakfast Rice
Ingredients:
  • 1⁄2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1⁄4 cup diced dried fruit blend
  • 2 Tbsp powdered milk
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 cup instant rice
Directions:

At home, add all components except for the butter, into a quart freezer bag. Tuck butter in with your perishables. For longer or warmer trips, pack a coconut oil packet.

When ready to eat:

FBC method:

Add 1¼ cups near boiling water and the butter to the bag. Stir well and put in a cozy for 15 minutes. Fluff and serve.

Mug method:

Add 1¼ cups near boiling water and the butter to the mug. Stir well, cover tightly and let sit for 15 minutes.
