Mid October is sliding in. My favorite local area is closing to the first of 3 deer hunting season on the 17th, so it seems like every other day we are up on the ridge, trying to get a few last hikes in before the shutdown.
Sunny days after long rains bring out the native slugs and the fungi these gentle creatures love to nibble on. Crows fly over loudly. It’s pleasantly warm enough, with the winds of Fall cooling you off.
We have 2 more days to enjoy then we can’t get back into the forest until November 2nd. So we shall enjoy our time.
